What is Pack 900?

Pack 900 is a Cub Scout pack that serves boys and girls from Kindergarten through 5th grade, offering a range of activities, events, and meetings to help children earn awards and develop skills.

What grade levels are in Pack 900?

Pack 900 is open to all children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. We welcome both boys and girls in every grade level.

What are the ranks in Cub Scouts based on grade levels?

Cub Scouts are grouped by grade level:

  • Kindergarten: Lions
  • 1st Grade: Tigers
  • 2nd Grade: Wolves
  • 3rd Grade: Bears
  • 4th Grade: Webelos
  • 5th Grade: Arrow of Light (AOL)

Yes! Pack 900 is a Family Pack, which means we welcome both boys and girls in every grade.

Is Pack 900 inclusive of kids with special needs?

Yes. Every child is welcome. If your child has unique needs, reach out to our Cubmaster for a private conversation. We’ll work together to make scouting a great experience.

What do Cub Scouts learn?

Each year, Dens focus on five main topics:

  • Bobcat: Learn Scout basics like the Oath and Law
  • Outdoors: Explore nature, conservation, and camping
  • Personal Fitness: Learn about healthy eating and staying active
  • Citizenship: Understand how to be a good member of family, school, and country
  • Personal Safety: Practice first aid, online safety, and anti-bullying

What are elective adventures?

Beyond the core activities, Scouts can explore extra topics like:

  • Fishing
  • STEM experiments
  • Animal care
  • Archery, BB guns, and wrist rockets
  • Sports and games
  • Summer fun and more!

What’s the difference between a Den Meeting and a Pack Meeting?

Den Meetings are small-group meetings by grade level. Kids work on activities, games, and crafts that help them earn awards (called belt loops).

Pack Meetings happen once a month and include all grade levels. These are bigger events with guest speakers, awards, and sometimes field trips.

What special events happen each year?

Some of our most exciting annual events include:

  • Pinewood Derby – Build and race your own wooden car
  • Blue and Gold Banquet – Celebrate Scouting's birthday with dinner, skits, and fun
  • Crossover and Graduation – Celebrate the end of the year and moving up to the next rank

Can my child do Scouts and sports?

Absolutely. We have a steady, predictable calendar that makes it easy to work around other activities. Many of our Scouts do both!

What uniforms are required?

  • Pack 900 requires uniforms from the waist up:

    • Shirt (based on rank)
    • Neckerchief
    • Belt
Pants and socks can be any style your child is comfortable in.

What are Class A and Class B uniforms?

  • Class A: The official Scout uniform with shirt, belt, and neckerchief. Worn for most meetings and formal events.
  • Class B: Pack T-shirt. Worn for messy or outdoor activities. We’ll let you know which to wear.

Where can I get uniforms or save money on them?

Uniforms can be purchased at the Scout Store in Tulsa or online. We also have a Uniform Closet with gently used items at a big discount.

Tip: Buy the blue shirt a size up—your child will wear it for multiple years!

What if I can’t afford uniforms or dues?

We never want cost to be a barrier. Options include:

  • Fundraising: Families who meet the goal can get dues reimbursed
  • Uniform Closet: Discounted, gently used uniforms in various sizes

What should I know about camping with Pack 900?

Camping is one of our most loved activities! We do family-style camping, and everyone is welcome—including siblings. If you’re new to camping, we’ll help with gear, checklists, and setup.

Do I need camping experience to join?

Nope! We love helping new families. Need help with a tent? Packing? Gear? We’ve got your back. If your child isn’t ready for an overnight yet, come for the day—that’s perfectly okay!

Can my whole family come camping?

Yes! Scouting is a family adventure. A parent or guardian must attend with their Scout, but many families bring siblings too.

How can I help or volunteer with Pack 900?

Volunteering isn’t required, but we always welcome it. Here are a few easy ways to help:

  • Help with fundraisers
  • Bring supplies when asked
  • Lend a hand during meetings or events

What are the different volunteer roles?

  • Small Roles: Donate supplies, help during crafts or games
  • Committee Member: Attend monthly planning meetings and help vote on events
  • Den Leader or Assistant: Lead your child’s Den or assist with meetings
  • Officer Roles: Help as Treasurer, Secretary, or other key positions
